Newton’s Ring Apparatus

Newton's ring apparatus is a device used to observe the phenomenon of interference of light. It consists of a plano-convex lens placed in contact with a flat glass plate, creating a thin air film between them. When monochromatic light is incident on the lens, interference fringes, known as Newton's rings, are formed due to the phase difference of the light reflected from the top and bottom surfaces of the air film.
