A manometer on stand is a device used to measure pressure, particularly low pressures. It consists of a U-shaped glass tube filled with a liquid such as mercury or water. The tube is connected to the system or container whose pressure is to be measured. The difference in the height of the liquid in the two arms of the tube indicates the pressure. The stand allows the manometer to be positioned at a convenient height and angle for taking readings.
